Riley made a big impact on Sunday at Baker Rink, displaying relentless effort and speed in all three zones. She drove the net hard and fought for rebounds throughout the game, consistently positioning herself in the right place at the right time. These good habits, combined with her smart reads and decisions, helped Riley earn her first hat trick as a member of PTL!

Baylee wears an “A” because she sets the example as a leader on and off the ice. Baylee plays a 200-foot game, and this is evident by her offensive production, back checking, and defensive support. Baylee efforts have significantly contributed to the team’s success.

Olivia consistently performs at a high level in our games and is extremely reliable. Along with her strong defensive play this weekend, Olivia also contributed offensively and on special teams. In our second game, a 4-2 win over MYHA, Olivia added one assist and scored the game winning goal.

Belle was a leader on the ice during our game on Saturday again the Devils AA from MAHWA.  Then on Sunday she netted her first hat trick of the season.  Belle consistently comes to play day in and day out at both practice and games.  She is always poised, always a good teammate, and always does everything to the best of her ability.

Madelyn “MJ” was involved in both game winning goals this weekend with a goal and an assist. MJ was also a key player for our penalty kill and was able to get the team out of a bind when we needed her most.

Debra played excellent defense against our team over the course of two games. She even added a goal in the second game.

Serenity had her 14u coming out party this weekend with 2 goals and 4 assists in 2 league games.  She made quick decisions, played great defense and was all of the ice.

Sophie works so hard forechecking and back checking at 100% every shift. During our second game of the weekend, Sophie back checked hard and ended up getting a penalty that then resulted in a penalty shot and a goal for our opponent to take the lead late in the game. Instead of getting down on herself, Sophie went out and scored on her next shift to tie it back up and help us eventually win the game.

Position: Defense
Peyton has been a solid performer all season for us as a strong defender. She is also really starting to find her groove as an offensive contributor from the point. She will always find the open player up ice but when it isn’t open has the ability to make an impact on the rush. Peyton played great defense all weekend long for us and at times contributed to the offense by moving the puck up the ice and evading defenders. She capped off the strong weekend with two of our goals (out of 3) against the Ice Cats U16 T2 team.

Adrianna led team Long Island Blue to a hard fought battle against a deep JR Flyers Black team with her constant hustle and hard work. Her contagious aggressive play on the forecheck and back check creating turnovers led Team Long Island to a 2-1 win. She even blocked a shot late in game leading to an unfortunate forearm injury keeping her out of the next game. Her play proves to all players you don’t need to score a point to make a difference in a game.

Kendall led the Capital Cup tournament in points, tied for first in goals, with 1 hat trick in round robin. He scored a game-tying goal to send the championship to overtime off a great individual effort.

The Atlantic Girls Hockey Federation is excited for its first Federation Education Series guest this season. This series will feature presentations for our players, families, and coaches on the landscape of hockey and Player Development. The first presentation will feature Ken Martel from USA Hockey. 

With over 25 years of experience in player development and a long history as a coach with USA Hockey, Ken Martel was named senior director of player and coach development in November 2022. He is charged with helping provide a framework for associations nationwide to follow for optimal athlete development.

Martel has made appearances behind the bench of nine U.S. teams that have competed in International Ice Hockey Federation World Championships, including four times with the U.S. National Under-18 Team (2000-04), four times with the U.S. National Junior Team (2004, 2006, 2008-09) and once with the U.S. Women’s National Team (2007).

All are welcome to attend however, the presentation is targeted toward 8U to 12U ages. The presentation will cover player development, growth in hockey, what makes for a great youth sports experience, learning in an athletic context, and more.

The Atlantic Girls Hockey Federation (AGHF) is set to host its first showcase of the 2024-25 season, the highly anticipated September Showdown, from September 27-29. Teams from 10U to 19U across all divisions will compete at rinks throughout New Jersey.

Teams will take to the ice, showcasing their talent and determination as they compete across the state. Fans and participants can stay up-to-date with live scores and schedules through the AGHF Game Center, and those unable to attend can catch exclusive game streams on Black Bear TV.

Adding to the excitement, Carmo Photography will be at the Ice Vault in Wayne, NJ, capturing action shots from the 14U Diamond, Platinum, and Elite divisions. 

With a packed weekend ahead, the September Showdown is set to kick off what promises to be an exhilarating season for the AGHF.

The Atlantic Girls Hockey Federation (AGHF) is excited to announce the release of the first KRACH rankings for the 2024-25 season. As teams hit the ice and competition heats up, the KRACH system offers a clear view of how teams are performing, based on both their win/loss record and the strength of their opponents.

KRACH, short for Ken’s Ratings for American College Hockey, is a statistical model that adjusts team rankings by factoring in not just wins and losses, but also the difficulty of a team’s schedule. This makes it one of the most balanced ways to measure team performance across divisions. A team’s KRACH ranking is essentially a multiplier of their win/loss ratio and their strength of schedule.

The AGHF KRACH rankings will be updated weekly, with new rankings available every Monday night at 5 pm. Teams and fans can view the full list of rankings on the AGHF Game Center. To learn more about how KRACH works, click [here].
