Games will count in both standings for members

The National Girls Hockey League and Atlantic Girls Hockey Federation have teamed up to offer a unique 5-6 event membership package that includes showcases and playoffs for the AGHF and tournaments and National Championships for the NGHL. The AGHF currently serves as the primary league for Mid-Atlantic based clubs with opportunities for scheduling partnerships and partial season membership, while the NGHL acts as a showcase league providing a supplementary schedule for teams located anywhere in the U.S. with event locations primarily hosted in the East, Central, and Mountain states regions.

The AGHF/NGHL combo package is the perfect solution for clubs outside of the East Coast geography that cannot schedule home and away loose games to meet AGHF requirements, but are seeking top competition. This package allows clubs to double-count NGHL games in the standings of both the NGHL and the AGHF. Games played at NGHL events count toward the AGHF’s home and away “loose games” minimum to qualify for AGHF playoffs!

Participating teams receive at least 2 AGHF showcases, AGHF playoffs, and 3 NGHL events for a total of 5-6 weekends and a minimum of 20-23 games. Teams will compete in separate playoff championships for the NGHL Championship and the AGHF Championship.

The Connecticut Ice Cats, an established and competitive Tier 1 and Tier 2 girls’ hockey program, will be joining the Atlantic Girls Hockey Federation for the 2023-24 season. The Ice Cats play out of Stamford Twin Rinks, Darien Ice House, and New Canaan Winter Club.

The Ice Cats program began in 2000 as a part of the DYHA Girls teams. In 2009, the DYHA Girls teams merged with the New Canaan Winter Club to form the CT Ice Cats. Since then, the Ice Cats have developed a strong reputation for their competitive play and dedication to player development. In the last 5 years, the program has sent nine teams to the New England Regional Tournament, bringing home five gold medals and four silver medals.

The U12 team has also had impressive success, qualifying for and competing in the Tier 2 national tournament in the 2009-2010, 2010-2011 (national quarter-finalist), and 2011-2012 seasons.

The Ice Cats are committed to fielding competitive teams while also developing all players’ skills and knowledge of the game. Their mission is to have fun while working hard and competing at the highest level. With the addition of three teams to the Atlantic Girls Hockey Federation, the Ice Cats will have even more opportunities to showcase their talent and compete against top teams from around the region.

We look forward to having this organization in the AGHF. Be sure to follow the Ice Cats on Instagram

The Princeton Tiger Lillies have been making headlines as they prepare for the highly anticipated USA Hockey Nationals. The U14 AA Black team recently received recognition for their outstanding achievements at the Philadelphia Flyers Game on Friday, March 17. It was an unforgettable moment for the team and a testament to their hard work and dedication.

In addition to this exciting honor, the Tiger Lillies also played a thrilling scrimmage against the Brick Stars Challenger Hockey team. The Brick Stars program is specifically designed for children and young adults with developmental disabilities, and it was an incredible experience for both teams to come together and play the sport they love. The Brick Stars even lent their three talented girl players to the Tiger Lillies, making it a day that none of them will ever forget.

As the Tiger Lillies gear up for Nationals, we can’t help but wish them the very best of luck. This talented group of athletes has shown incredible skill and determination, and we can’t wait to see them take the ice and compete at the highest level.

Be on the lookout as All Season Teams will be announced weekly by divisions. Posting schedule is below
