The AGHF announces the Players of the Week for the week ending December 18, 2022. The Players of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2022-23 season that honors players in all divisions. Only players that are nominated by their respective teams are considered.
Age Level / Division: 10U
Team: NJ Bandits
Player: Chelsea Coylk (F) – Games: 2, Goals: 2, Assists: 0
“Chelsea has been a consistent force for our offense this year. Always creating scoring opportunities and putting her team in a position to win, Chelsea is a fantastic teammate on and off the ice,” said Coach Paul Josephsen.
–
Age Level / Division: 12U
Team: Saugerties Fillies
Player: Serenity (Beans) DeWitt (F) – Games: 2, Goals: 4, Assists: 2
“With our best players at All Stars and an emergency goalie who made zero saves in warm-ups Serenity took the challenge to back check on every shift and carried the offense. The opposing coach said “I thought your best players were at the all-star game.” This weekend Serenity was as good as anyone at the all star game,” said Coach Tom Penichter.
–
Age Level / Division: 14U Diamond
Team: Princeton Tiger Lilies Black
Player: Kylie Miller (D) – Games: 1, Goals: 0, Assists: 1
“Last week, Kylie did an excellent job of executing our team’s focal points in practice. She took it a step further and applied many of the skills and concepts we’ve been working on during Sunday’s game. Kylie’s growth was demonstrated through her confidence and the speed at which she played. Her elevated awareness and anticipation allowed her to consistently make informed decisions with and without the puck, which significantly benefitted our team,” said Coach Rebecca Morse.
–
Age Level / Division: 14U Platinum
Team: NJ Bandits
Player: Meryl Lawson (F) – Games: 2, Goals: 1, Assists: 2
“Meryl was involved in every goal we scored against Lehigh Valley this Sunday. She was aggressive on the forecheck and made several beautiful passes out of the defensive load that lead to several breakaways,” said Coach Grace Potash.
–
Age Level / Division: 16U Diamond
Team: Princeton Tiger Lilies Black
Player: Coco Lutolf (F) – Games: 3, Goals: 3, Assists: 0
“Versatile winger Coco Lutolf netted a hat trick this weekend while playing in all situations for her team, (even strength and special teams). In addition to her offense Coco displayed excellent defensive effort commuting to hard back checks and blocked shots,” said Coach John Diaz.
–
Age Level / Division: 16U Platinum
Team: Lehigh Valley Phantoms Youth
Player: Eden Bender (G) – Games: 2, Goals Against: 1, Saves: 2
“Eden made some huge saves to keep the Phantoms girls in the game, then came in clutch with all three saves in the shootout,” said Coach Cody Ruff.
