The first few weeks of a hockey season are all about getting back into the rhythm. This weekend, the AGHF is officially hitting its stride.

From 10U through 19U, Saturday and Sunday bring a packed slate of regular-season action across the league, with teams settling into the new season, divisional matchups picking up and plenty of hockey on tap from the first puck drop Saturday morning through Sunday evening.

And right in the middle of it all, the spotlight is officially turning on.

The first AGHF Game of the Month of the 2026-27 season hits the ice Saturday night as the NJ Bandits and Princeton Tiger Lilies meet in a 19U Elite showdown at 6:25 p.m. at Pro Skate Olympic.

Saturday Night Belongs to 19U Elite

We introduced Game of the Month to put some of the AGHF’s can’t-miss matchups center stage. Now, it’s time to play the first one.

The Bandits and PTL get the honors Saturday night, bringing 19U Elite into the spotlight at Pro Skate.

And there’s a little more to this one than a single game.

Saturday marks the beginning of a two-game weekend between the Bandits and Tiger Lilies, who will meet again Sunday at 1:40 p.m., also at Pro Skate Olympic. That means there’s very little time to regroup between puck drops — and plenty of opportunity for Saturday night to set the tone for Round Two.

First, though, all eyes are on 6:25 p.m. Saturday.

The Game of the Month series will continue throughout the 2026-27 season, with another September matchup still to be selected during the upcoming Ice Breaker Showcase. But the road starts here.

Saturday Starts Early — And Stays Busy

There’s plenty of hockey to watch before the Game of the Month takes center stage.

Saturday begins at 8:00 a.m. with the New York Islanders and Stateline Hawks facing off at 10U Diamond. The Islanders have a busy day ahead across several divisions, including Diamond matchups with the CT Ice Cats at 12U and 14U.

Pro Skate has a full afternoon of its own. Union Thunder and Princeton Tiger Lilies meet at three different levels, beginning with 10U Platinum at 12:50 p.m., followed by 12U Platinum at 3:05 p.m. and 14U Diamond at 4:45 p.m.

The 14U divisions will also be busy across the region. The North Jersey Avalanche and Saugerties Fillies meet twice at 14U Elite, while the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers and Team Long Island have a pair of 14U Elite games of their own.

As the day moves into the evening, the older divisions take over. The Reston Raiders and Lehigh Valley Phantoms meet at 5:00 p.m. in 19U Diamond action, followed shortly after by the New York Islanders and Skylands Lady Kings.

Then comes the one we’ve circled.

6:25 p.m. NJ Bandits vs. Princeton Tiger Lilies. 19U Elite. Game of the Month.

Right Back at It Sunday

There won’t be much time to slow down.

Sunday opens with Philadelphia Jr. Flyers and Snider Hockey at 10U Platinum before another full day of games gets underway.

The Reston Raiders and Lehigh Valley Phantoms are back for another 19U Diamond matchup at 9:15 a.m., while the Stateline Hawks and New Jersey Jets meet twice at 14U Platinum.

The Jr. Flyers will be busy throughout Sunday as well. Their schedule includes matchups at 12U Diamond and 14U Diamond, plus two 16U Elite games against MYHA.

And then it’s time for Round Two.

Less than 24 hours after Saturday night’s Game of the Month, the NJ Bandits and Princeton Tiger Lilies meet again at 1:40 p.m. Sunday at Pro Skate Olympic. Whatever Saturday brings, both teams will have an immediate opportunity to answer back.

Later in the afternoon, South Jersey Monarchs and Union Thunder meet at 19U Platinum, while Union Thunder and Lehigh Valley Phantoms close out another busy weekend of 19U Diamond action.

The Spotlight Is On

There are a lot of games to keep an eye on this weekend — and that’s exactly how we like it.

The season is young. Teams are finding their footing. Divisions are starting to take shape. And every weekend brings another opportunity to make some noise.

This Saturday, one matchup gets a little extra attention.
