The Atlantic Girls Hockey Federation returned for another full weekend of action on September 19-20, with all 13 divisions across the Elite, Diamond and Platinum tiers taking the ice. Three contests required overtime and several more came down to a single goal.

From perfect 3-0 weekends to tightly contested series, the weekend provided plenty of early-season storylines throughout the AGHF.

Elite Divisions

14U Elite

The Princeton Tiger Lilies put together a perfect 2-0 weekend, earning a pair of victories over the North Jersey Avalanche. Princeton opened Saturday with a tight 3-2 win before completing the weekend sweep Sunday.

16U Elite

MYHA and Hampton Roads Warriors met twice in cross-division play, with neither side able to sweep the weekend series. MYHA earned the victory Saturday before Hampton Roads answered Sunday, leaving both teams at 1-1.

19U Elite

Mon Valley Thunder also finished unbeaten at 1-0-1 in cross-division action against Reston Raiders, including a 2-2 tie Sunday. The Jr Flyers responded from their Saturday losses with a Sunday victory over Princeton Tiger Lilies.

Diamond Divisions

10U Diamond

The Philadelphia Jr Flyers earned a victory over Snider Hockey in their 10U Diamond game Saturday. 

12U Diamond

Loudoun Knights and Snider Hockey split their Saturday doubleheader, with Loudoun earning a 3-2 victory in the second game. Snider returned Sunday and played Royals Hockey Club to a 2-2 tie, completing a 1-1-1 weekend.

The New York Islanders also earned a Sunday victory over the Princeton Tiger Lilies.

14U Diamond

The Philadelphia Jr Flyers delivered one of the strongest performances of the entire weekend, going 3-0 across Saturday and Sunday. After opening with a Saturday victory, the Jr Flyers added two more wins Sunday to complete the perfect weekend.

Tri City Eagles were perfect as well, sweeping a Saturday doubleheader to finish 2-0.

16U Diamond

The Jr Flyers had a strong weekend at 16U Diamond, where they went 3-0. Philadelphia opened with a Saturday shutout against the North Jersey Avalanche before sweeping two cross-division games against the Princeton Tiger Lilies on Sunday. The first of those Sunday meetings needed overtime, with the Jr Flyers earning a 2-1 victory.

The New York Islanders also went unbeaten at 1-0-1 against Jr Bulldogs, beginning their Saturday series with a scoreless tie.

19U Diamond

With 10 completed games, 19U Diamond featured the busiest schedule of any AGHF division.

The Philadelphia Jr Flyers went 3-1, including a Sunday sweep of Princeton Tiger Lilies. The NYC Cyclones were perfect at 2-0, with their weekend including a 4-3 victory over Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

The Jr Bulldogs joined the Cyclones at 2-0, but their perfect weekend required some extra work. The Bulldogs edged New York Islanders 6-5 in overtime Sunday to preserve their undefeated record.

Platinum Divisions

10U Platinum

Saturday’s three-game 10U Platinum slate began with a close one, as the NJ Bandits and Stateline Hawks played to a 4-4 tie. MYHA then put together a perfect day, going 2-0 against the South Jersey Monarchs in cross-division play.

12U Platinum

The Princeton Tiger Lilies swept a Saturday pair against the Philadelphia Jr Flyers, while Union Thunder earned a Saturday victory before Royals Hockey Club handed them a loss Sunday.

CT Ice Cats also picked up a Sunday victory over Team Long Island.

14U Platinum

Seven games filled the 14U Platinum schedule, and the Philadelphia Jr Flyers finished a perfect 3-0. The New Jersey Jets also went undefeated, sweeping their Saturday doubleheader against the Stateline Hawks to finish 2-0.

The Philadelphia Liberties and Potomac Lady Patriots split their two Saturday meetings, giving each side a victory from the weekend series.

16U and 19U Platinum

The 16U Platinum division featured one cross-division game Sunday, with the New York Islanders earning the victory over the South Jersey Monarchs.

At 19U Platinum, Snider Hockey swept a Sunday doubleheader against MYHA in cross-division play to finish its weekend 2-0.

Perfect Weekends and Close Finishes

The weekend provided a mix of undefeated performances and games decided by the smallest of margins. The Philadelphia Jr Flyers were especially active across the Diamond and Platinum tiers, putting together 3-0 weekends at 14U Diamond, 16U Diamond and 14U Platinum, while several other clubs finished their respective schedules without a loss.

With overtime finishes, one-goal games and multiple weekend sweeps across the federation, the September 19-20 slate added another competitive chapter to the early stages of the AGHF season. Teams now turn their attention toward the next round of league action as the season continues to build momentum.
